As President and COO, Brian keeps the company’s strategy aligned to its goals, and ensures customers see a strategic advantage from partnering with Hitachi Vantara. He directly oversees global product management, sales, service, support, marketing, business development, partner development, finance, legal, IT, logistics, business operations and planning. Prior to his current role, he held a similar role at Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), which integrated with several other Hitachi companies to form Hitachi Vantara. He joined Hitachi in 2003, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School
With a unique blend of delivering complex technology programs, managing P&L businesses and having worked on some of the most innovative fintech initiatives in the market, Ana is currently the Head of Transformation – Change Management and Transformation Delivery for ANZ’s NWOW enterprise-wide program. She oversees what many analysts have deemed the greatest corporate transformation in Australia’s history and will share some of the challenges, opportunities and learnings from her journey. In her career at ANZ, Ana has held a number of senior roles across consumer and commercial banking, portfolio management, business set up, strategy, marketing, retention, digitisation and product development. Ana holds a BA in Psychology & Political Science from University of Melbourne and MBA in Leadership and Communications from Deakin University.
Ian has lead Curtin University’s commercial and administrative activities since 2010 including IT and digital, finance, human resources, property development, facilities and risk. He focuses on Curtin’s digital transformation, the ongoing development of Curtin as a living laboratory, piloting new concepts/technologies and changing the way universities, suppliers and customers interact and co-create to solve challenges. He is a board member of Perth Innovation Central and Bright People Technologies, as well as a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a chartered accountant. His previous roles include CEO of the public company Endeavour Healthcare, CFO of Kaiser Engineers Asia Pacific and Senior Manager, Deloitte.
As National Practice Leader for IoT, Piers works with clients to tap into the $120 billion uplift in annual economic impact that is forecast to be derived from IoT to the Australian economy by 2025, focusing on Smart Cities, Smart Universities, Smart Utilities and Smart Food and Fibre. Piers has been recognised by Business Age as one of the Top 50 Entrepreneurs in the UK contributing to the Internet, innovation and wealth creation, and sits on the Executive Committee of the IoT Alliance Australia (IoTAA).
Michelle is Head of Enterprise Data Governance at ANZ Bank. In this role, Michelle is responsible for data management strategy across the group, the privacy and ethics framework, data governance, enterprise metadata management and data quality. She has a background in Computer Science, and is currently studying a Masters of Ethics. Michelle is also a board advisory member of Data Governance Australia.
Dr. Nigel Tomkins
Grass Fed Beef, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA)
Nigel Tomkins is the MLA Research and Development project manager for grass fed beef. As R&D manager, he is responsible for the management and delivery of MLA funded activities across universities, state agencies and commercial entities that deliver a profitable and increasingly productive beef industry. Nigel has a diverse background including 15 years as a research scientist with CSIRO. He has completed a PhD in deer nutrition and taught agriculture, with research published in both scientific and industry journals and maintains an active engagement in R&D activities in Australia and overseas.
Russell is responsible for the technical direction of Hitachi Vantara in Asia Pacific and for leading a team of solution-focused business consultants and technical experts to help customers realise business transformation. Working with country presales leadership teams, Skingsley also leads the collaboration and enablement of Hitachi teams to enhance expertise across a range of domains in the region, build alignment and drive its digital transformation strategy in APAC. Russell joined Hitachi in 2016. Prior he was VP of Systems Engineering for APAC at Juniper Networks. He has over 25 years’ ICT experience and has helped a wide range of customer groups including government departments, financial institutions, major universities and telecommunications providers around the globe.
Brad recently joined Hitachi Vantara with over 25 years of success in digital transformation, general management, product and solution development, software engineering and operations across multiple industries and geographies. Prior, he led the formation of GE Digital, a General Electric business, and served as chief operating officer. An “intra-preneur,” Brad comes with a proven history in building successful businesses within large multinational companies such as SAP and Business Objects. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University and was awarded the title of Distinguished Science Alumni in 2017.
As CTO for Australia and New Zealand, Daniel helps clients shape their IT strategy to deliver technology-enabled business solutions that reduce cost and complexity. He has more than 23 years’ experience in leading and managing the application of advanced IT solutions for organisations within the financial services, telco, retail, manufacturing, and government sectors. He also serves as a technical advisor to startups, accelerators and venture capital funds globally. He previously held senior executive regional roles as an HPE Fellow and CTO for Financial Services in Asia Pacific and CTO for Latin America. Daniel holds an MBA in International Business from L’Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), France, and has completed the General Management Executive Education program at Harvard Business School (HBS).
Nathan is the Vice President & General Manager for Hitachi Vantara Australia & New Zealand, as well as an executive director of Hitachi Vantara Australia Pty Ltd, Hitachi Vantara New Zealand Pty Ltd and Hitachi Vantara Credit Corporation Pty Ltd. He is responsible for leading Hitachi Vantara ANZ’s strategic direction and operations, to grow market share within its core business with overall accountability for revenue and profitability. With over 17 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT industry, Nathan has led sales teams of high-value, complex solutions incorporating cutting edge technology and challenging systems integration. Working closely with the markets tier 1 partners and customers, he has a strong track record of high performance in business development for complex technology and networking.
With 40+ year of Asia Pacific wide experience in the telecommunications industry, particularly in data and broadband services and technologies. Geof is the Principal Consultant for the Internet of Things Alliance Australia, and currently chairs its Platforms and Interoperability Work Stream. Geof also chairs the Australian Computer Society’s Open Data Technical Committee while participating in the NSW Government’s Data Taskforce lead by its Chair Data Scientist and currently also chairs the Square Kilometre Array Radio Telescope Industry Consortium. He has his own digital economy consultancy and working with Creator Tech, specialising in Smart Cities, IoT, Telecommunications and open data policy – Working from vision and strategy, business models through to implementation.
Keith oversees Hitachi Vantara’s Asia Pacific operations for smart spaces and video intelligence. Based in Sydney, Roscarel leads business expansion across Asia Pacific with solutions that address smart spaces, security, and urban improvement challenges that organisations face in an era of growing physical and cyber threats. He is also tasked with introducing new vertical solutions that will see big data solutions and other industry innovation added to the Hitachi Vantara solutions portfolio. Keith joined Hitachi in 2012, and is an industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience in the communications, media and entertainment industry, including multiple roles as CIO, including Nine Entertainment, program manager for Foxtel, and general manager of solutions for Consolidated Press Holdings Group.
Kit is a technology and commercial lawyer specialising in data protection advisory including GDPR, cyber security and risk management frameworks. Prior to completing legal studies and joining MinterEllison, Kit was with IBM for over 25 years, holding executive positions in Australia, China, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Kit has extensive technical and commercial expertise in IT and specialises in advising on strategic sourcing transactions, digital transformation, data privacy and cybersecurity. Kit holds a Bachelor of Science, Masters in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours).
Todd Whaley is Hitachi Vantara’s Services Director, Australia and New Zealand. He joined the company in August 2017 to help enterprise clients accelerate digital transformation outcomes and business benefits leveraging the wealth of Hitachi services. He joined Hitachi in August 2017 from the UK, where he was the director of professional services for a leading IT Services provider of datacentres, professional services, managed services and cloud computing. In this role, he oversaw a number of significant projects related to GDPR readiness and compliance. His career in executive IT roles spans over three decades, working in global corporations primarily based within the UK, Europe and his native New Zealand.
